Our meditation style

Meditation StyleThe foundation of our meditation style is Vipassana, one of the oldest meditation practices. We also incorporate metta (loving kindness) and zen styles of meditation to create a truly unique meditation style that has changed patterns of behavior for thousands of our clients.

Gentle and loving

It is an unguided meditation practice, a gentle technique that incorporates attentive listening, mindful seeing and careful listening. You will discover how to listen and notice to your thoughts without being caught up in them. You will learn to be kind to yourself, to turn off your critical inner voice, and in so doing, are able to show love and kindness to others.

You will also about your powerful inner resource — your breath — that you will begin using throughout your day to focus your thoughts, calm your being, and deal with any of life’s challenges. The power is within us all. We simply have to learn how to tap into it, which is exactly what we do at Pathway to Mindfulness.

Weekly sessions
Our sessions last about 50 minutes, and we meet once each week, usually in eight-week blocks. We work in your home or at our studio in Bridgeport, CT or at the Life Solution Center of Darien.

We start gradually, with a 5-minute meditation, and gradually work up to a 20-minute meditation, the length of time researchers have found changes behaviors and increase brain matter and power. We suggest that our clients practiced most days — although many have easily incorporated their practice into their daily life.
